Dressed in every fruit from grapes and pineapple to cherries and watermelon, TNA served up some sweet and fresh harmonies in their 2012 fall concert on Friday, Nov. 30 in Montgomery Hall 25.

In accordance with their theme, “FRUIT!” the all-female acapella group opened the show with their own version of “Fruit Salad” by The Wiggles.

Other songs performed included Destiny’s Child’s “Say My Name,” Bob Marley’s “Three Little Birds,” Regina Spektor’s “Eet,” “Lucky” by Jason Mraz and Colbie Caillat (with the SMC-Men), “Shake It Out” by Florence + the Machine, “Call Your Girlfriend” by Erato, “Hit ‘Em Up Style” by Blu Cantrell, “Down to the River to Pray” by Alison Krauss, “Kaleidoscope Heart” by Sara Bareilles, “Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This)” by Eurythmics, and “Barton Hollow” by the Civil Wars.

Senior Caitlin Fowler, a member of TNA now for five semesters, noted that it was the best concert she had been a part of yet. “The group has clicked so, so well this year,” she said. “We have had absolutely no problems, we all love each other so much.”

“Everyone went all out for their costumes, all of the soloists sounded beautiful, and we really had a great set list with amazing arrangements,” said junior and TNA secretary Lauren Taylor. “I couldn’t be more pleased.”

Taylor also mentioned that the group chose the fruit theme by narrowing them down and voting.

“We all just sort of shout out ideas and write them down on a chalkboard,” she said. “But it ended up being an awesome theme, we had creative costumes, great decorations, and we even got to throw some Jolly Ranchers out into the crowd.”

The next TNA concert will be late next semester.

SMC-Men, the all-male a capella group, and Interchorus, the co-ed group, also each have concerts on Dec. 8 and 9, respectively.
