Seahawks’ Defense Suffocates Hood

On Wednesday, January 25th, the St. Mary’s men’s basketball team defeated Hood College in an 18-point defensive battle. With a score of 64 to 46, the Seahawks were dominant in Cole Arena with 25 defensive rebounds, 13 turnovers, 10 steals, and 8 blocks (a season high).

Seahawks Box Out Opposition at Pride of MD Tournament

The St. Mary’s Men’s Basketball team performed strongly at the three day Pride of Maryland Tournament Nov. 15 and 18-19, besting Washington College and Frostburg State Universities and losing to Johns Hopkins University by only a single point.

Seahawk Basketball Makes it to the NCAA Semifinals

After a Capital Athletic Conference victory on Feb. 26 and subsequent NCAA victories in its first three tournament matches, St. Mary’s ended its run in the championship with a loss to Middlebury College that, despite being unfortunate, was a landmark game for the Seahawks as its first entry in the Elite Eight of men’s basketball.

Men’s Basketball wins CAC Championship

Men’s Basketball Defeats Rival Salisbury

Opening the 2011 season on Jan. 3, the Seahawks began with a rocky start, losing to Guilford College (57-61), but gained momentum with three straight wins against Marymount University (74-65), University of Mary Washington (91-65), and Frostburg State University (88-60)
